☞ I just had the worst day in about half a year. Which says something, considering that my good days are everybody else's worst days. It started totally promising, of course, with eumelkeks liking the Good Omens fic I wrote (it's in English, btw), Star Trek being delivered and hardly having any problems at all with shopping for groceries. I hadn't felt that good in weeks. And then I spent the rest of the day sobbing, hyperventilating and wishing I would die already. I hate my life (I realise it's the second time I said this today). *sigh* If you have any ideas how to cheer me up (since it's unlikely that I drop dead spontaneously), I'd be grateful. Cute animals don't work at all, though.

☞ In other (happier) news: The Archive of Our Own is going into open beta soon, and since I already have an account, I might get invites to share. Anybody interested or does my entire flist have an account already?

☞ Writing month project isn't going so well, obviously. I didn't write anything at all today.

☞ For those of you who have my phone number: don't call me unless you told me so via e-mail before. The phone is turned off for the time being. I try to avoid any incidences like the one that led to my breakdown today.

☞ Unrelated just plain weird phone stuff: I got an SMS by a couple who wanted to have hard SM sex with me. They apparently got the phone number off a toilet door at some rest stop at an autobahn. Either they mistyped the number or I really don't want to know who had my number before me. It isn't as funny as the woman who wanted to schedule a manicure with me and wouldn't let me tell her that I wasn't who she thought I was, though.

You started out as a oneshot to relax. You were meant to have maybe a thousand words. I wanted you to be fast food. Not a menu with four courses. But you just keep growing and growing and growing. And now you're seriously starting to scare me. I was okay with it when I realized that you might have more than one chapter. I was even pleasantly surprised. But you just had to start transforming into this big, uncontrollable hydra. And if you don't stop this soon, I will never be able to write you.

I just finished writing Caronia. Finally. Really, This is the third time I started writing this story (at nineteen), and it took me so long to finish it. The main reason for that is that it's fantasy, and even though I still like to read fantasy, I just did not feel the urge to write it anymore. And of course the number of fantasy books I read rapidly declined after I turned sixteen.

One of the other reasons is the fact that the story was always meant to be very long. In the end, it turned out to reach 70.347 words. That is a lot longer than anything else I wrote so far. I generally need 10.000 to 20.000 for my longer stories. And of course I always write everything on paper first. That means it takes me extra long to finish anything.

But now I that I finished all of the projects I have been working on for years, I can finally start something new. And I still have a lot of ideas that want to be written.

And hopefully, christschaen is going to finish the Caronia icon soon. He visited me last week and hadn't finished the final version then.

I just finished (Im)Perfect. It's 9900 words in total. For some reason, I always write a lot, but when I look at the number of words I reach in the end I am a bit disappointed. I mean, in one English exam I managed to write 2000 words in two hours. Compared to that, my stories always seem to be so short.

Maybe I should just start writing in English. It could be that English just needs more words for the same message.

I finally managed to write a bit again.

I just sent off the first chapter of my new HP-fic to sevilemar so that she might beta it... well, someday. She has an important exam this month, so it might take a while. But since she's such a great beta (except when it comes to typos) I am willing to wait.

Anyway, the story is titled (Im)Perfect, and it's SB/LM. I don't know why, but besides HP/DM, I really prefer rare-pairs. Plus the German fandom really needs more stories with rare-pairs. And no, LV/HP/LM is not a rare-pair. It will have three chapters and an epilogue, so it's not that long, but it will be my first HP-Fic that is not a one-shot.

And I had another idea for a story. Last weekend, when I just could not study anymore, I wrote something that should have been a tiny little one-shot about Harry becoming a werewolf. (Un-)Fortunately, the ideas just kept coming and so the eight pages I wrote (on paper) will probably only be a prologue. Now I have to find a suitable title without the word "moon" in it. For some reason I think werewolf stories with either "moon" or "wolf" in the title sound cheap.

So I wanted to read some new slash fanfiction in order to relax after having spent a few hours learning for the Japanese history exam.

And all I found that was at least halfway acceptable (meaning no typos and weird grammar in the summary) in the slash category was Harry/Girl!Draco or Draco/Girl!Harry. Now, I don't feel the need to read stories like that, even though I remember reading some good a while back. I know some people like stories like that and I appreciate the possibilities a setting like that has. It's just not my cup of tea.

But it got me thinking: Is that really slash? I know there are people who think slash only refers to a homosexual pairing that is not canon (so Brian/Curt from Velvet Goldmine would not be slash), while others use it for any homosexual pairing. But I really don't know about these stories.

I am not only talking about stories where one of them temporarily turns into a girl, and after he turns back they are still a couple and there is lots of angst and insecurity. That is obviously slash (at least for the last part).

But what about stories in which, for example, Harry turns out to be a girl, and stays a girl? Where there is no switching back? No boy on boy action?

In my personal opinion, it can only be called slash when the two characters are definitely boys/girls. So the stories in which the two of them would be a heterosexual couple would not be slash. But I am not too sure that everyone else shares my opinion. Otherwise, I would not stumble upon these stories in the slash category.

My flatmate has the coolest textbook ever.

It's her Chinese one, so it does not really make much sense to me, but today she translated some of the dialogues for me. In one of these dialogues a mad Takeshi Kaneshiro fangirl was praising his films/looks/singing and tried to get her friend to understand her. She did not give up until the other girl gave in.

I want a textbook like that as well. All mine were boring as hell. Except maybe this one dialogue in the Japanese textbook in which the characters were standing at a traffic light, and all they did was talking about the traffic light. But that's not very practical. Mad fangirls are.

Plus, yesterday I finally finished a chapter of the story I have been working on since I was sixteen. Once I finish it (the first part), I will probably rework it again, it would not be the first time.

I finally finished lightningwave's Sacrifices Arc. Took me long enough, even though it might be considered a classic already. After all, it inspired a lot of other people to write Harry-is-not-the-boy-who-lived stories with a twin as the boy/girl who lived.

And now I am going to bed.
